मुंबई विश्वविद्यालय में सेक्स के बारे में संगोष्ठी
With an aim to increase awareness on 'sexual harassment' act in work place and also on the increasing the misuse of 'sexual harassment' act in educational institutions, the University of Mumbai has begun conducting various workshops for its administrative staff as well as faculty. Under the vice-chancellor's directive and on Vishaka guidelines of Apex Court, the university has made different modules for faculty as well as for the administrative staff and other karmacharis at its Women Development Cell, said its chairperson Kranti Jejurkar. Gender equity and gender sensitization are some of the main issues that they take up in these workshops, she said at the two-day National seminar on `Gender and Caste: Interface and issues' which concluded here yesterday. Since it has become mandatory to follow the Vishaka guidelines in work places, they are also imparted through NSS, Language forum and other associations within the university structure. "We make sure committees are constituted in the different institutions in such a way they are able to make their cases acceptable to the court," Jejurkar said adding this was necessary since in some cases, the committees could not argue the case in favour of the harassed person
